I will never forget our time as kids in Williston. We had a lot of fun playing and the pillow fight with feathers all over the bedroom. Aunt Shirley wasn't happy with us, but it was so much fun. You will be missed but I will cherish the memories

I grew up with Jimmie, went to school with him, and we were close friends! Jimmie took me out on my first date when we were in 6th grade. We stayed in touch over the years; I still can’t hardly believe that he is gone. A great loss of an amazing, friendly, kind, outgoing man who has touched the lives and hearts of so many! My sincere condolences to his family. May God give us all the strength and courage to continue on as we all grieve the passing of Jimmie. May our memories of time spent with Jimmie be a constant reminder of the great blessing and legacy that he has created in our lives!

Jimmie was a one in a million kind of guy. A true and most loyal friend a person could be lucky enough to meet. Whenever you saw him he made you feel like you were the most special person on the planet. He was such a mischievous jokester always up for the next prank or laugh ... Also an incredibly hard worker. I will miss running into him. My deepest sympathy to the family and all who loved him . May your lively fun spirit soar on in heaven.

Jimmie and I played football and were on the wrestling team together from 7th grade thru High School. As a friend you could not have asked for a better person than Jimmie Hicks and I am lucky that I was able to have had the privilege to have known Jimmie. One example of the kind of guy Jimmie was, is that one North Dakota winter night when it was 20 below zero and we returned home late from a wrestling match Jimmie was giving two of the cheerleaders a ride home when he saw that one of the younger wrestlers was walking to his home that was out in the country. This kid talked with a lisp and had one eye that was dead and that had turned white, so he got teased/bullied a lot. Jimmie always went out of his way to be nice to him and much to the shock of the two cheerleaders riding home in Jimmie's 59' Impala, Jimmie stopped and gave this kid a ride home. The reason Jimmie told me this story was not to virtue signal that he was a good guy, he told me this story because of the hilarious thing the kid said about the two girls when he go into the car, that really shocked them! Unfortunately I can't repeat it in public! Jimmie always had everyone's back and he didn't care what anyone thought. I will always remember Jimmie and I am lucky to have been his friend.

Rest In Peace Jimmie. You were pretty much a legend here and I couldn't believe you even knew who I was when I moved back home since I'm actually from up up by the border. You still treated me like a long time old friend whenever we ran into each other. I really appreciated that.
