One of my favorite memories of Don was many years ago seeing him supporting his dad as they walked the halls of the Sidney hospital shortly before his dad's death. Don was a kind and caring man.

So very sorry for your loss, I admired Don for years and always impressed by all the things he did for our community and the levels he took this service to from local to state and national levels and still remained a regular guy. We have lost a community patriarch.

Dear Janet & Jim and Family,
It’s with a heavy heart we read about your kind-hearted dad. He raised such hard-working, beautiful children ~ as he lived as a dedicated, hard-working and loving husband and father. Really sorry for your loss, knowing how much he’ll be missed.

I served with Don in the Montana State Senate which was where I last talked with him. He made his presence felt by his kind, calm, and thoughtful demeanor. He was the very model of what a legislator should be, We were political opposites, which didn't make any difference to Don or me, I thought the world of him and was so happy that he and Lia found each other. I had always hoped to see him again. I will miss his smile.

Jim, MayAnn & Family,
We have sadness in our hearts for the loss of your Father - Grandfather and the wonderful kind person he was. Was good to know him for the short time we did. Should be a lot more people like him in this world. Our sympathy goes out to the whole Steinbeisser Family.

Anita and my sympathies to Lia and Don's Family. Don was a true guide and a mentor when I represented Sidney-Fairview in the Montana House of Representatives in the early 1980s. We spoke often and his good advice was so treasured. We visited at length when Don was deciding to run for the House after I retired. He was a rock of stability and he will always be remembered and treasured by Anita and I.
