Mike and I just heard this. Helen was such a nice lady. Whenever we stopped in at Gurney Electric she was so great to help with whatever you needed.

Helen was a wonderful neighbor. She always had kind words when we spoke. She checked in on Grandma for us often. A wonderful Christian lady with a big heart. I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayers and hugs to the family.

Our sincere condolences to the Gurney family. We had many good visits with Helen when going to the shop. She definitely knew her merchandise. May the family find comfort knowing she is in the loving arms of our God and Savior.

Oh my gosh you guys!!! Chris has kept me informed during this time and I was always asking him. She's gone--and now I read about it. I thought the WORLD of Helen!!! She was always so kind and ready to visit. I am so very sorry and I send my condolences to you all--Ron and family, Tanya and family and Chris and family. I pray the Lord gives you peace and strength during this time and please know she's with her Heavenly Father now and at rest!! God Bless you all--Sandi Beagle Angel

Knowing Helen was to know faith in God. As a customer of Gurney Electric, I knew Helen, as Mom of Theresa, I knew Helen, as a grocery store shopper, I knew Helen and every time we talked we exchanged special words about God's love for us and His gift of eternal life with Him. The most common denominator we had began in 2004 with the word "cancer". My son Todd was undergoing chemo at Roger Maris center here, Theresa was his nurse, then Theresa and Helen were undergoing treatment for cancer and so we had a good many conversations about it. I moved to Fargo last June and had I known Helen was here, I would have contacted her. (My condo is a block from the Hospice House!) While sending my thoughts and prayers at the passing of Dear Helen, I also rejoice with you, her families, that she is now with her Savior, Jesus.

Helen was such a sweet lady. I enjoyed when she would come to the Station to board the train. She would arrive early and we would talk about so many things. She will be missed.
