Alberta M. Wilkison-Sowle
January 9, 1922 - September 4, 2017

Place of Birth: Dore, North Dakota
Residence: Billings, MT formerly of Sidney, MT
Age: 95

Alberta died early Monday morning, September 4, 2017, at the Sweetwater Assisted Living, Billings, MT.
Alberta was born on January 9, 1922 to Ova and George Martin in Dore, ND.
She graduated from Fairview High School. She married Ben Wilkison in 1942. They moved to Tuscon, AZ, where she worked as a telephone operator. When Ben was stationed overseas for the war, Alberta moved back home. Upon Ben's discharge from the Army, they made their home in Fairview, MT. They owned the Korner Motel for many years. Ben passed away in 1979. She married Cliff Sowle in 1981. They lived on the ranch at Sioux Pass until they retired and moved to Sidney. They enjoyed traveling to Mesa, AZ every year to escape the cold winters of Montana. They loved to travel, fish and camp. They moved to Billings after Cliff had a stroke. Cliff passed away in 2012. Alberta was very proud and blessed she had married 2 very good men. She was married to each of them for over 30 years each. Alberta was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and was a Moose member.
She is survived by: daughter Julie (Martin) Dahlen of ND, Jeanette Bounds of WA and several grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by parents, husbands, 4 sisters, 3 brothers and stepson Clinton.
Thank You
We wish to thank all of the staff at Sweetwater Retirement Community in Billings, where she lived for the past 4 years. We would like to thank Riverstone Hospice as well for all of their support.
