Maxine Holte was born July 29, 1919, in Tagus, ND to Sydney and Ellen (Cuddigan) Reep. She died peacefully in her sleep on January 23, 2018, at the Mountrail Bethel Home where she resided for several years. She was 98 years old.

Maxine went to school in several North Dakota towns, including Berthold, Lostwood, Williston, Lunds Valley, before graduating in Stanley. She married Wallace Martin Holte on October 5, 1940. She and Wally lived in Seattle and Spokane, Washington, before returning to Stanley.

She and Wally had four children: Robert, Kathleen, Jerome, and Mary. She worked as a secretary, teller, or bookkeeper for several offices, including M.D.U., Scandia America Bank, and Midstate Telephone Company. She and Wally ran the Regis Theater for several years. She was an active member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, the Ladies Altar Society, the Merry Mrs. Homemaker Club, Birthday Club, the Legion Auxiliary, and the Golden Age Club. She also enjoyed playing bridge, golf and gardening.

Maxine delighted in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children, Robert Holte, Stanley, Kathleen Stockel, North Salt Lake, UT, Jerome Holte, Washburn, Mary Gire, Nobato, CA; eleven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Blake, Amber, Tim Holte, Mike and Dan Kadrmas, Scott, Jennifer, Ryan Holte, Elizabeth, and Benjamin Gire; seventeen great-grandchildren, Hailey, Hunter, Hayden, Ethan, Zach, Samantha, Courtney, Sadie, Ian, Sabrina, Madison, Kayleigh, Liam, Lucas, Olivia, Rose, and Dexter; brother, Elroy Reep, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; sister, Phyllis Christenson; brothers, Thomas Reep, Algene Reep, Glenn Reep, and Don Reep.
