Dana Yellow Wolf Mendoza, 42, of Billings, MT, formerly of Mandaree, ND, died Thursday, July 26, 2018 at her Billings residence. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Watford City is assisting the family.

Dana (Sage Woman) Denise Yellow Wolf- Mendoza was born October 5, 1975 to Frances (Yellow Wolf) Wolf and William Standish in Watford City, ND. She attended grade school in Mandaree, ND; Sidney, MT & Savage, MT and attended high school in Mandaree, ND and later earned her GED from Fort Berthold Community College in New Town, ND

She is the mother to 5 loving children, Stacy & Delberta, Charisa, Destiny and her son Dalton Jay all of whom she loved dearly! Dana worked at Four Bears Casino until later moving to Washington in 1999. While there, Dana started work at the Quinaut Beach Resort and Casino as a housekeeper, and making her way up into the Cage department. Dana then met her Husband Rutilio Mendoza in 2003. In 2006 she and her family moved back to Newtown, ND and in 2008, Dana and Rutilio got married in Stanley, ND. While living back in Newtown Dana worked at the “Chances Are” bottle shop.

Later in 2012, Dana moved to Billings, MT where she spent her last years, enjoying being close to her mother. Dana had many hobbies, she loved to write in her journals, and was an extraordinary artist; she loved to draw. She also loved cooking, she was always learning new recipes and trying them out for her family.
Dana loved spending her time with her mom and her children. She especially enjoyed being around all of her grandkids and boy! Did she love to spoil them!

Dana is preceded in death by her father William Standish, her maternal grandparents; John and Thelma (Young Bear) Yellow Wolf, her Paternal grandparents; Leo and Joyce (Bearstail) Standish, her brothers George, Aaron & Christian and her sister Rachel.

She is survived by her mother; Frances wolf, her brother Charles Yellowwolf, her Daughters; Stacy (Leo) Gomez, Delberta Yellow Wolf, Charisa Uses Arrow, Destiny (Derrick) White Hair and her baby Boy, Dalton Jay- her aunts; Martha (Fritz) Bird Bear, Mary Gachupin, Victoria (Sam) Tarrant, Kathleen Charles, and Joan (Kenny) Church. Her uncle Les (Charisa) Yellow Wolf, her loving grand children; Beautiful, Leonardo, MiaKoda (Pearl), Leviathan, David and Baby Caelum. All of her cousins, nieces, nephews and adopted children.
