Ernest L. Tomes, age 92, resident of Ross, North Dakota, died Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Tioga Medical Center, Tioga, North Dakota.

Ernie was born May 29, 1926 on the family farm in Robinson Township, North Dakota. Ernie graduated from Ross Public Schools and after that, he joined the military. After returning home he married Alice Robb in Stanley, North Dakota. Ernie grew up on the farm and raised cattle, pigs, and chickens, which he would sell the eggs from the chickens. He worked for Amerada Hess for some time. Ernie loved to play cards, go to parties, dance, garden, hunt, and fish. Most of all Ernest loved to visit with neighbors and friends.

Ernest will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years, Alice; sister-in-law, Rosalie Robb; brother-in-law, Lloyd Robb; and his mighty good neighbors, Allen (Debra) Lund.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; children, Brent, Leo & Leona; brothers, Frank and Edward; sister, Lillian.
