Stewart Nels Selid was born June 25, 1958 in Williston, ND to Harold and Laila (Kinneberg) Selid. He was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Williston.

He attended Lewis & Clark School and graduated from Williston High School in 1976. He attended UND Williston.

Stewart was employed at Selid Plumbing & Heating for a period of time then moved to Denver Colorado for a few years. Upon returning to Williston, Stewart continued in the plumbing trade starting his own small company, “Sure Shot Plumbing”.

the area. He had a passion for snowmobiling and fishing and was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos. While in Denver he was fortunate enough to meet John Elway, this is a memory he talked about often.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Selid; paternal grandparents, Nels and Jennie Selid; maternal grandparents, Peder and Sigrid Kinneberg; aunt, Sonja Ganje Wolverton; cousin, Doug Ganje; uncles, Ove Selid, Alvin Selid and Norman Selid and aunts, Annie Amb and Dorothy Elverum.

Stewart is survived by his mother, Laila; brother, David (VeAnna); niece and nephew, Paul (Katie) Selid of Bismarck, ND and their children, Harrison and Camryn; and Kelsey (Jake) Geltel of Williston, ND and their children, Avery and Iver; cousins, Bruce (Sandie) Ganje of Tuscon, AZ and Greg Ganje (his good buddy) of Minot, ND.

Memorial Contribution

so sorry. He helped me with plumbing over the years in the Old Post Office Bldg. Stu was a good guy, good plumber and a very good ice fisherman.

Stewart was such a kind and easy-going guy. He and my brother Gary were good buddies and that is how I met Stewart. He would come out to our house with Gary and a few times he even helped with some plumbing issues. Prayers to the family.

I knew Stewart; sorry I missed his funeral. He played drums for me years ago; I just heard about his passing. May he rest in peace.
