Josie was the reigning, long-lived, and adored matriarch of the John K. and Emma Hanson homesteaders to North Dakota about 120 years ago. Josie was a spirited lady with a love of life and caring nature to everyone around her; a legacy that will be cherished by her extended family.

We, as the family of Gib & Eleanor Hanson, have been blessed with her Christmas cards and messages over the years. To our long-lived Aunt we give thanks.

I was so blessed to be able to see Aunt Jo's service online yesterday. It was very touching. The quilt was such a wonderful thing to see as I know the love and labor that went into all the hundreds of quilts she made and the comfort they provided to so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you cousins and with all your families.
