Terry R. Grubb
July 4, 1949 - June 17, 2023

Place of Birth: Kenmare, ND
Residence: Battleview, ND
Age: 73

Terry Rae (Christianson) Grubb, age 73, passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a graceful and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, on June 17, 2023, at the Tioga Medical Center.

Terry was born in Kenmare, ND on July 4, 1949, to Gordon and Lois (Peterson) Christianson. She graduated from Kenmare High School in 1967 and went on to Josef’s School of Hair Design in Fargo, ND. Upon completion of beauty school in 1968, she worked in Minot, ND, where she met Lacy.

She married the love of her life, Lacy, on October 4, 1969, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Kenmare, ND. Lacy and Terry began their life together in Tioga. They moved to Battleview in 1974 where they made their lifelong home and raised their 3 sons: Kayo, Clint, and Tyler.

Terry owned and operated Country Valley Beauty Salon that Lacy built for her in 1974. She was a beautician from 1968 until her diagnosis in February of 2022. She adored every one of her clients who were like family. She worked side-by-side with Lacy in the cabinet shop adding her own finesse to the staining and varnishing. She spent several years crafting with her special friend, Skip Opdahl.

Terry was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church and was involved with WELCA and spent many hours quilting with the ladies of the church. She enjoyed decorating the church for the different seasons of celebration and was always busy working, doing, and caring for others. She had a strong faith and was a wonderful servant of God who selflessly shared love and grace with everyone. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, canning, baking, quilting, and entertaining. Sharing her homemade goodies and salsa were ways she celebrated the many people she cherished.

She loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the “Apple of her Eye.” She loved reading to them, playing games and cards, baking, making cheese buns, and going for gator rides. Grandma Terry had pride a mile wide for her grandchildren as she loved attending all their events and celebrating their milestones. We will all miss her beautiful smile.

Terry is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Lois.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lacy, and their children, Kayo (Shelbi), Clint, Tyler (Leslie); her grandchildren, Kinzi (Dalton), Hanna (Caulen), Joston, Oakley, Ella, Owen, and Ozmon, and her great granddaughter, Lainie; and her brothers, Lee (Deann) Christianson and Kent Christianson, both of Bakersfield, CA. She is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and a nephew.

Our hearts are forever grateful for the abundant prayers and faith affirmations as we hoped for a miracle, but we trust in His promise of everlasting life.

My heart goes out to you all, Terry was a very dear friend and will be sadly missed. I have so many precious memories of when we lived in Battle View. One, was when Terry taught me how to bake her homemade buns, we stood side by side with our own bowls, mixing, kneading and forming. Every time I make buns I think of her and her beautiful smile, which would light up a room.
Rest in peace, Terry, we will see you one day in Heaven.
