Dennis Lloyd Scheetz was born September 8, 1949, to Herman and Hilda (Odenbach) Scheetz in Sidney, Montana.

After High School, Dennis joined the Army and served his time. Returning from the Army, he moved to Savage and purchased the Valley Garage with Gary Nelson. Years later he sold his portion of Valley Garage to Gary and started work at Larson Motor in Sidney as a diesel mechanic. During this time Dennis joined the Army National Guard where he served for 22 years and retired in 2004. In 1977, Dennis married Kathy Reynolds and from this union had two daughters, Kari and Erin. Upon their separation, Dennis became a devoted single father to his children. In 1992, Dennis discovered he had a son, Michael McDougal, and began to build their relationship as a father and son.

Later in life, Dennis met the love of his life, Emilyn. They were united in marriage on January 15th, 2004. He loved traveling with his wife and making memories all over the world. Dennis enjoyed attending church, going camping, hunting and fishing. He was also passionate about riding his motorcycle. What Dennis enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

Dennis unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Sidney Health Center in Sidney, Montana with his family by his side.

Dennis was a beautiful soul. He changed the life of our dear cousin Emilyn. I wrote him a letter when he took Emilyn away from us and made him a promise to take care of her, and He did. Such a loving person. He was a man who had word of honor. We surely miss him very much here in the Philippines. Rest well with our Heavenly Father.

Dennis was a big part of my life growing up as his daughter Kari was my best friend, so I spent lots of time in their home, attending vacations with them and more. I was saddened to hear of his passing, but I know with the faith he had, he's in a much better place. Wish I was there in person today but wanted to share a funny story - one I'll never forget!

I was like 10 years old and I convinced my mom to let me drive her car to their house (like 2 blocks from the church to their house) – and she let me. Well, I went to back up and leave their house, and I kept hitting something - thinking it was the railroad tie to their flower bed………..well it happened to be his pride and joy Honda Goldwing Motorcycle!!  I had knocked it over with the car and kept backing up over it on tire part …..how he didn’t yell or kill me was beyond me. He was calm and cool as a cucumber……….but BOY was I SCARED! We laugh now about it now of course…..but that was a scary day as little kid!! ??
