Harold C. Reck was born December 24, 1926, to Orville H Reck and Ruth V. Arganbright in Whittier, California. His younger brother Donald soon joined the family.
In high school, Harold was drafted into the US Army on February 5, 1945. During World War II he was stationed in the Philippines and Japan as a 3rd Engineer Battalion. He was honorably discharged on October 7, 1946. Returning home to Fullerton, California, he got a job at the Railroad Marshall as a Guard. Later, he applied at Northrop Grumman and worked there as an electrician for thirty years before retiring in 1988. Harold loved flying so he trained to become a pilot and spent many hours happily flying his own plane. Aside from flying, his other passions included riding his motorcycle and traveling in his motorhome.
Harold had two children from his first marriage, Judy and Ted, who unfortunately passed away. On June 15, 1999, Harold married Hilda Scheetz, and they enjoyed twenty-six years of marriage together. With this marriage, Harold’s family grew to include bonus kids Dennis (Emilyn), Sherry (Scott), Patti (Bryan) and Rick (Cheryl). Harold was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Harold peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Sidney Health Center in Sidney, Montana with family by his side.
Harold is survived by his wife Hilda (Scheetz) Reck; younger brother Donald Reck; stepchildren Sherry (Scott) Lessman, Patti (Bryan) Cummings, and Rick (Cheryl) Scheetz; and step-daughter-in-law Emilyn Scheetz. He was preceded in death by his first wife Hazel, children Judy and Ted, stepson Dennis, and parents Orville and Ruth.
