Peggy Lee Brunner
July 9, 1962 - July 29, 2025

Place of Birth: Sterling, Colorado
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 63

Peggy Lee Brunner, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many, passed away on July 29, 2025, at the St. Vincent hospital in Billings, MT from complications with brain surgery. She was surrounded by family.

Peggy was born in Sterling, CO on July 9, 1962, to Bill and Darlene Brunner. She lived in Weldona, CO until 1968 when she moved to Fairview, MT with her family. She attended grades K-12 in the Fairview school system and was involved in many clubs. She also played girls basketball and track and field in high school. After graduation she attended Miles City Community College and played one year of basketball there. She transferred to Dickinson State University after that. In May of 1987, she returned to her hometown of Fairview and began her 38-year career in the purchasing department of the Sidney hospital.

Peggy loved all sports and spent many years umpiring and coaching girls’ softball and later began refereeing volleyball, working the score table, line judging, and assisting in any way she could. She enjoyed doing this for many years. She loved cross stitching, crocheting, and making handmade Christmas stockings. She crafted many beautiful gifts for family and friends. Her family all have beautiful things she created in our homes. She loved working in her yard and spent many hours building rock gardens, flowerbeds, and gardens. Even just your weekly yard work made her happy.

Peggy was a very selfless and caring person. She was always there to help our dad when our mom got sick, and then sold her house, packed up her belongings, and moved in with dad as his health was failing. She would often work from home, take him to all his appointments, and always did whatever needed to be done so he was taken care of. She also had a great love for dogs, and they loved her. She adopted her first puppy, Snoopy and then soon after that began fostering dogs that were awaiting adoption. That is how she found her dog Lily.

Peggy is survived by two sisters Pam (Dan) Smith of Sidney and Tami (Terry) Weaver of Billings, and one brother Jeff (Shelly) Brunner of Breckenridge, MN. She had eight nieces and nephews: Lisa (Joshua) Vogel of Billings, Heather (Brock) Nelson of Dickinson, ND, Megan Smith (Taylor Harvey) of Dickinson, ND, Alex (Jamie) Weaver of Billings, Jess (Katie) Weaver of Billings, Brandon Brunner of Breckenridge, MN, Nicholas Brunner of Breckenridge, MN and Nathan Brunner of Breckenridge, MN. She also had seven great nieces and nephews: Alexa Warner of Irvine, CA, Sterling Warner of Billings, Parker Nelson of Dickinson, ND, Taylor Nelson of Dickinson, ND, Jayden Nelson of Dickinson, ND, Agnes Weaver of Billings and Mei Weaver of Billings. She loved making it to as many of their activities as she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Darlene Brunner, her maternal grandparents Bill and Lydia Bunning and her paternal grandparents Godfrey and Grace Brunner.

Rest in peace our sister, aunt, and friend. We will love and miss you forever!!!

To Peggy’s family, my heart breaks for you in the loss of her. She and I worked many years together at CMH and SHC. She was a dedicated employee and was amazing at her job. She will be missed immensely by her coworkers but especially by her family. May you feel the grace of God surround you at this time and in the days and weeks ahead. My deepest sympathies to you all.

What a shock to hear that Peggy passed away. I worked with her for a lot of years when I worked at the hospital. She was always professional and knew her department well. She was so helpful and suggested other alternatives when needed. My condolences to all the family and she will be greatly missed at the hospital. Prayers and peace in the days ahead. God Bless.

I was so upset to hear of Peggy's quick passing! I worked with Peggy for 28 years at Sidney Health Center. She always helped & searched to find whatever we needed to make things run smoothly. Ordering parts for all the different equipment and styles was tedious and frustrating but she always did it with grace, a smile and her chuckle! Peggy had a library of knowledge that will be missed at SHC. Peggy also took time to help this football Mom learn volleyball rotations and rules. I watched her endless, caring devotion of caring for your parents especially your Dad. I will miss Peggy's knowledge, her smile, kindness and mostly our chuckles together. I can see her smiling with her Mom and Dad again. Prayers of comfort sent to all her loved ones

To Peggy's family, word cannot express the sorrow we are all feeling, I am missing my soul sister ever since I got that phone call of her passing. She is still #1 in my car to call and talk about our days, so many times I have wanted to hit that button to hear her voice one more time, my twins are missing their Aunt Peggy, and my grandkids are missing "Grandma" Peggy as they named her years ago. One day my friend we will see each other again. Until that time come, we love you and we miss you each and every day.
