It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Gary D. King
September 15, 1940 - December 31, 2025

Place of Birth: Wolf Point, MT
Residence: Sidney, MT
Age: 85

Gary Dewane King, age 85, of Sidney, MT, died suddenly on December 31, 2025, at Sidney Health Center after many years battling chronic health conditions.

Gary was born in Wolf Point, MT in 1940 as the second of three sons to Polly (Price) and Verner King. He was raised on their family farm, attending Grandview Country School until the eighth grade and then graduating from Sidney High School in 1958. In his early years, Gary was very involved with 4-H, belonging to the “Western Funmakers Club” and awaited the excitement of bringing his steers to the Richland County Fair and Rodeo each summer. Gary worked in various truck driving jobs until buying his own in the mid-1980s. He truly enjoyed driving and liked to tell stories about the millions of miles he traveled over those 45+ years of hauling different goods all over the northwestern United States.

After selling his trucks, he looked forward to his daily drive around town and visiting over coffee with friends. He had an affinity for John Deere tractors and was skilled at restoring numerous models over the years. When his mobility didn’t allow working in the garage any longer, he spent time dehydrating apples and giving them out to others whether they had finished their last bag or not.

Gary was a complex man who was known for his firm convictions, blunt opinions and uncompromising nature. He faced many hardships in life, and while he may not have always shown it, he cared deeply about his family in his own unique way and was very proud of them.

He is survived by: sons Jason (Patti) King and Justin (Katharine) King; son-in-law Bert Suko; grandchildren Cheryl (Brad) Edinger, Shelby Suko, Daniel (Ivy) King, Alia King, Dominique Radke, Ethan and Sara King; great-grandchildren Titus and Atlas Edinger and Blake King; brother Aron (Carmen) King; and numerous Price family members.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Verner and Polly King, infant son Kevin, daughters Jennifer King-Radke and Kim Suko, son Josh King, and brother Roger King.

Through his challenges, we learned the importance of patience, forgiveness and the value of seeing different perspectives. May he finally find the peace he sought throughout his life.

Memorial Contribution
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Josh King Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Foundation for Community Care.

Gary’s family would like to thank the healthcare professionals of Sidney Health Center and McKenzie Health who have cared for him during recent years.

I welcomed our telephone conversations over the past years and will miss my hometown information source. He was a great friend going back to our childhood in the west end of Richland County.
