It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Ivan Cayko
September 16, 1942 - April 23, 2026

Place of Birth: Fairview, Montana
Residence: Helena, Montana
Age: 83

Ivan George Cayko passed away peacefully in Yuma, AZ, on April 23, 2026. Born to John and Jeannette Cayko on September 16, 1942, Ivan was the second-oldest of five siblings. He graduated from Fairview High School, where he played football, basketball, and served as Fairview’s first Montana FFA State Officer in his senior year.

Ivan found joy in farming. Though distance sometimes kept him from the land, he remained deeply connected to the family farm through his son, Todd, and grandson Kyle. It wasn’t just what Ivan did; it was who he was: a farmer.

Ivan was a man who truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and the company of others. He had a deep love for friendly competition and camaraderie and could often be found on the golf course or at the bowling alley. He also had a passion for music and wasn’t one to shy away from the spotlight—karaoke nights were some of his favorites. With a microphone in hand, Ivan created moments of laughter and connection that friends and family will never forget.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Sue Cayko, and two brothers, Johnny and Richard. Ivan is survived by his beloved companion Sherryl Vaughn of Helena, his sister Elaine (Trudell) (Harvey Finsaas), and his brother Terry (Vicky) Cayko; his sons, Todd (Patti) Cayko of Fairview, Montana and Ron (Nicole) Cayko of Walker, Minnesota; his daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Burk of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Ivanna (Kirk) Fritz of Kalispell, Montana; and three stepsons, Ken (Michelle) Martin, Jeff (Lisa) Nelson, and Tom Oie. He was also blessed with a great number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

Ivan spent most of his life in Fairview, but also lived in Missoula and Helena. Reflecting on his life, he said that he was happiest on the farm. Therefore, according to his wishes, a family ceremony will be held on the Cayko farm, at a later date, where his ashes will be spread into the earth he tilled and loved.
