Robert "Bob" Dennis Gudmunsen
July 26, 1942 – August 6, 2026

Robert Dennis Gudmunsen, known to his friends as Bob, passed away on August 6, 2026, at the age of 84, in Killdeer, ND.

Bob was born on July 26, 1942, in Williston, North Dakota. He spent his childhood living and working on the farm south of Arnegard and attended school in Arnegard — though by his own account, school was never his favorite thing. After the death of his father, Leonard, Bob took up farming and ranching the family land, a life and a place he would call home for the rest of his years.

It was some time later that Bob met Lowaine, his first wife, and the two built a life together, marrying. He became father to her son, Tom, and the couple went on to welcome two more sons, Garrett and Travis.

Bob loved the land he called home. He took pride in his crops and his cattle, and in the farm he built. He was an avid hunter and a crack shot, known for impressing others with his marksmanship. He had a lifelong love of machines — motorcycles, four-wheelers, side-by-sides, and anything with an engine — and he never met an auction he didn't enjoy. He was also, by all accounts, quite the prankster.

Lowaine passed away in 2012. In 2014, Bob found love again and married Faye, the second love of his life. He moved in with Faye but made his daily trip to the farm, never being all that far from home.

Bob is survived by his wife, Faye; his sons, Tom Loken and Garrett (Jamie) Gudmunsen; his daughter-in-law, Lindsey Gudmunsen; Faye's sons L'Roy (Arron) Turnquist, David (Erica) Turnquist, and Scott (Kari) Turnquist; his grandchildren and step grandchildren, Trevin Loken, Gatlin Loken, Morgan Loken, Ayden Hilleren, Evelyn Gudmunsen, Lauren Gudmunsen, Kim McLinden, Eirik Gudmunsen, Liam Gudmunsen, Ashley (Jake) Gould, Andrina (Kurt) Sechist, Carlton Turnquist, Corynna Turnquist, Samantha Turnquist, Tyias (Chelsey) Huck, Lane (Courtney) Huck, Coy (Peyton) Turnquist; and many other nieces, nephews, and step great grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Lowaine; his parents, Leonard and Dagny; his siblings, Jim Gudmunsen, Carol Johnson, and Don Gudmunsen; and his son, Travis Gudmunsen
