Tonya Dee Holthus, 65 peacefully passed away on Tuesday September 29, 2026, at her home in Sidney, MT surrounded by her loved ones.

Tonya Sitzman Holthus, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on September 29th, 2026.

Tonya was born on January 12, 1961, in McCook, Nebraska, to Don and Norma Sitzman. She graduated from Culbertson High School and later attended Northwest Kansas Vocational.

On July 12, 1980, Tonya married the love of her life, Paul Holthus Jr. Together, they built a life filled with family, love, laughter, and many cherished memories. They were blessed with three children: Brandon, Michelle, and Breana.

Tonya was a devoted mother and grandmother who treasured her family above all else. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Paul, son Brandon (Robin) of Miles City, MT and their children: Quintin, Avery, and Ian; daughter Michelle (Jason Crawford) of Aurora, CO; and daughter, Breana (Jordan Trottier) and their children Curtis, Odin, and Arlo. Her mother, Norma; siblings Randy (Kelly) Weaver, Vickie (Ron) Bauer, and MeLinda (John) Palic, sister-in-laws Jolena (Dan) Hyde, Valerie Holthus, Annette (Shaun) Walton, and brother-in-law Brad (Arlinda) Holthus and many nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life, Tonya lived in Belfield, North Dakota, and worked at Skyline Liquor and worked for Dr. Fruh in Dickinson, North Dakota. After moving to Sidney, MT in 1991 she spent most of her career working for Mike Morasko at State Farm in Sidney, Montana. She touched the lives of many people through her work and the relationships she built along the way including her dear friend, Tammy Runyon.

Tonya found joy in the simple things in life. She loved fishing, spending time at the lake, visiting family, and, most of all, being with her grandchildren. She cherished every opportunity to make memories with the people she loved and will be remembered for the love and warmth she brought to her family.

Tonya was preceded in death by her father, Don Sitzman, her sister, Collette, her father-in-law Paul Holthus Sr., mother-in-law Marlene Holthus, sister-in-law Pam Torrez and Laurie Ann Holthus, nephew Christopher Bauer, and niece Cheyanne Walton.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
